Lighting

Lighting sets the tone.....

Awesome interview suite

Today Show - Jenna Bush Hager

Lighting can make or break a production. It’s one of the most critical components of a shoot. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a one hour documentary or a simple interview, good lighting is a key factor for success. And excellent lighting techniques can establish a solid look and create a unifying theme for productions at all levels.

Through the years, Carl Filoreto and Elk Run Productions have gained a wealth of experience dealing with the infinite number of variables that are encountered on any location shoot. Location lighting is an inexact science, and experience is key to quickly sizing up a location and determining the best way to utilize it. In today’s production climate there’s rarely time for a site survey, so a good lighting DP/cameraperson needs to make quick and decisive decisions. At Elk Run, we tackle each project, whether it’s a complex multiple camera interview for a prime time news magazine, a hero shot for a multmedia display, or a quick no frills run and gun sound bite with the same dedication and focus.

We believe great lighting doesn’t draw attention to itself. Sure some shoots require lighting that’s bold and dramatic, and that’s great, we can create that look. In most cases, though, lighting is subtle. Subtlety requires creative finesse, and a lot of technique. And again, it’s key to have the right lighting instrument and the right accessory for the job. Elk Run provides a full range of lighting instruments as well as a complementary assortment of field production gadgets and widgets. A complete tungsten lighting package, Chimera light boxes, pattern throwing ellipsoidals, silks, nets, flags and cookies comprise just part of our tool box. And when we’re shooting outside, Elk Run has a full complement of Scrim Jims and various silks and nets to handle even the toughest lighting situations.

We’ve made it a priority to be able to handle the full range of lighting situations and to solve even the trickiest lighting problems. From lighting a CEO in a corporate board room to properly lighting someone driving a car at night, we have the ability, knowledge and tools to create the right look for your production.
